It's been a while since we posted any updates. So, in preparation for the 2016-17 NBA Regular Season starting in a couple weeks, we are publishing some updates to our NBA API. Most everything will remain the same, so your existing code should still work fine, however, in order to get more accurate projected stats, we're changing our player stats to be capable of housing decimals.
On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, between 10am and 12pm ET, we'll be pushing an enhanced version of our API, which in turn, will cause all player stats to have decimals in their values. There will be no other changes except for this single change.
The following API calls will be affecting by this enhancement.
- Player Game Stats by Player
- Player Game Stats by Date
- Projected Player Game Stats by Date
- Projected Player Game Stats by Player
- Player Season Stats
- Player Season Stats By Player
- Player Season Stats by Team
As mentioned, there's a high probability that you won't need to change any code on your end. However, depending on your software, you may need update your system to accommodate decimals in the stats fields. The following stats will be changed from integer to decimal during the timeframe noted above.
On a related note, we will be launching some NBA enhancements in the coming weeks, including some advanced stats and NBA Play-by-Play. Please stay tuned for those announcements.
