Week 1 of the 2016 NFL Season is upon us. And with that, we'd like to tell you about some enhancements to our API, as well as a tweak we made to the UpcomingSalary field in the Player & Team tables.
Player Season Red Zone Stats
Due to high demand, we’ve finally put the pieces in place to provide player specific red zone stats. In a single feed, you’ll be able to pull the number of carries a running back had, the number of targets a wide receiver/tight end had, and much more. Further, we provide the total number of red zone snaps the team took during that time period, which in turn, will give you red zone touch/target percentages, and much more.

Player Season Third Down Stats
Using a single API, you’ll be able to pull player stats on third down. While it may not have the same fantasy implications as red zone data, third down stats can provide fascinating insights into which players often come through in the clutch on third down.

Upcoming Salary
The player and team feeds have a field called UpcomingSalary. In previous years, this would represent the upcoming FanDuel salary. However, in order to keep things inline and consistent, this field will now represent the FantasyDataSalary, which is based on a $50,000 salary cap format (same as DraftKings) and it will have salaries for players, even if DraftKings isn’t running contests for the game.
While we generally don’t recommend using the UpcomingSalary field for pulling player salaries, you can continue to use it if you like. And if you want the FanDuel or DraftKings specific salary for a player, then you can use UpcomingFanDuelSalary and UpcomingDraftKingsSalary instead. Generally speaking, we recommend pulling the DFS salaries from either of the APIs below instead.
